Eight hundred and four days. (Go me!)

I got the last hank of yarn for the hat project in the mail yesterday but was too busy ogling Hugh Jackman (So pretty!) that I couldn't tear my eyes from the screen long enough to wind it into a usable ball. I did make a small bit of headway on the hat, though. I'm on the garter stitch border, three rows from binding off for the front. I think I want the back to be longer than the front, but I've already started the garter stitch border and now I'll have to rip out two rows to fix that and I don't REALLY want to do that but damn it, if I don't, then I either have to have too much garter stitch border in the back or have a hat that's the same front-and-back which is not particularly what I wanted. Damn. I'll fix it tonight.

Time to get ready for work.

At work today, I learned that not all roll fiberglass insulation is pink. Some of it is yellow. I also learned how to replace the blade in a utility knife and I learned that I need two hands to work a staple gun. All kinds of educational stuff going on, there.

After work, I fixed the hat project so that it is now right to the same spot that it was wrong to this morning. That's progress, right? The hat doesn't LOOK any bigger, but it looks righter. I'm pleased.

Now. I have a hank of yarn that I'm going to need shortly for the hat project. I've been using the yarn for the hat project doubled -- I had two hanks, which I made into two balls, and I drew from both balls at one time. But here, I have one hank of yarn.

Did you know that I have two college degrees? (engineering and english literature) Did you know that I have a Phi Beta Kappa key? I'm not entirely stupid. But... one hank of yarn. I need two balls. It will royally piss me off if the yarn does not come out even. What the fuck am I going to do to solve the yarn problem?

Update: I took BOTH loose ends from the hank and carefully and neatly wound them into a ball that ends with a loop.
