(no subject)

Well, turns out I was too lazy to sand and paint last night. I didn't work on the doily, either. I suck. The doily pattern is getting more aggressive, and I'm finding it a little daunting if the truth be told. Here, I'll share with you so that you can appreciate what I'm talking about.

Rnd 16: Slip st in next dc and in next ch-2 sp, ch3 (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, * % ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, (sc , ch 20, sc) in next sc, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 3, 2 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 sp, skip next sc, work 2-dc cluster in next dc, (ch 2, work 2-dc cluster in next ch-1 sp, ch 2, work 2-dc cluster in next dc) twice, sc in next ch-3 sp, 2 sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 % (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, repeat from * six times more, then repeat from % to % once, join with slip st to first dc.

Maybe if I think of it as a computer program designed to generate doilies? (I'd be the computer, see, and it's a line-interpreted program because ain't no way I can read the whole thing up front and generate a gestalt of how to do it. I don't have a compiler for this.) Nope, that's not helping. Neither is the fact that I can actually do each of the little steps. I know, for example, how to do a 2-dc cluster. I know how to 2dc, ch 2, 2 dc. None of the individual steps is beyond me.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Besides, how bad can it be?

(no subject)

My name is in the NY Times today as part of the two-page Firefox ad. The names are alphabetical and mine is on the left hand side page, at the tip of the second tuft of hair from the left side of the fox's neck. You can see the ad here and this is a tiny little screenshot of the part where my name is.

It's a good browser. I like it. I like it enough that I gave the firefox people actual money to tell all ya'll that it's a good browser and that I like it. If you are not currently pleased with your browser or perhaps are stuck with no-more-updates for your current browser because of the OS you run... maybe it's time to look at getting a different browser.
