Dec. 16th, 2004 09:16 amWell, turns out I was too lazy to sand and paint last night. I didn't work on the doily, either. I suck. The doily pattern is getting more aggressive, and I'm finding it a little daunting if the truth be told. Here, I'll share with you so that you can appreciate what I'm talking about.
Rnd 16: Slip st in next dc and in next ch-2 sp, ch3 (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, * % ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, (sc , ch 20, sc) in next sc, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 3, 2 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 sp, skip next sc, work 2-dc cluster in next dc, (ch 2, work 2-dc cluster in next ch-1 sp, ch 2, work 2-dc cluster in next dc) twice, sc in next ch-3 sp, 2 sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 % (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, repeat from * six times more, then repeat from % to % once, join with slip st to first dc.
Maybe if I think of it as a computer program designed to generate doilies? (I'd be the computer, see, and it's a line-interpreted program because ain't no way I can read the whole thing up front and generate a gestalt of how to do it. I don't have a compiler for this.) Nope, that's not helping. Neither is the fact that I can actually do each of the little steps. I know, for example, how to do a 2-dc cluster. I know how to 2dc, ch 2, 2 dc. None of the individual steps is beyond me.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Besides, how bad can it be?
