Modern, Cool Nerd
73 % Nerd, 69% Geek, 34% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used
to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a
pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world
that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and
geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very
least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent,
knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing
computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one
you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one
up there, winning the million bucks)!

Congratulations!

So...you are a cool nerd.

I can't remember what compliment the spawn gave to you today. I can't remember at all what it was, but it was to the effect that it was good to be a strong woman like you in particular.

The Spawn and I had "the Talk" today, in the car at Taco Bell, actually. But the compliment wasn't in regard to sex or anything. Merely to being a good woman.

The Spawn are pretty interesting kids. If I'd ever wanted 'em, I'd have wanted ones like that.

I'm kind of surprised that the Spawn know my name and remember me when I'm not there in what appears to be a moderately good way. *urk* That's flattering and kinda scary. I never signed up to be a role model, 'm afraid I'm not very good at it.

I hope you took the opportunity to point out that there are all kinds of strength and that quite a few of them exist without, er, the need to be running over other people quite so much. Even though I do that more than I should, it is not *entirely* necessary to trample enemies, slow-moving strangers, disinterested bystanders, the meek, the halt, and the lame, the terminally stupid, and the boring underfoot in order to be strong. (I believe there's at least one helpful fable that illustrates this concept, something about oak trees and reeds. More than a few martial arts also embody the general idea.)

And being a good woman, in this day and age, is a way I keep finding fraught with thorns, though this could well be because I'm off the beaten path. *sigh*

I was pleased. If they look up to people like you and lady ivy and aunt donna and the rest of the cabal, then I have nothing to worry about in terms of them being good women.

Also, I don't think the've seen the tanking over the lame and halt that you speak of. They see an interesting person who does what she likes to do.

Like several of us, I am the

I did think I slanted some answers to the geekier side of things.

Notice particularly that, although I am not all that dorky, I did score in the 85th percentile for females for dorkiness.

Yeah, I wouldn't rank you super high on the dorktastic meter. While nobody in my circle trips the Napoleon Dynamite siren, I certainly have dorkier friends than you. Heck, in some respects, I have dorkier *relatives* than you. While I am less dorky than you are, I note with some enthusiasm that I'm also nerdier and geekier. I think that the fact that I'm pleased about being nerdier and geekier than other people says quite a lot about the sort of person that I am.
