which_chickI didn't accomplish a whole lot today.
I wound yarn into balls. I did a couple of rows at the alleged gauge and decided that the alleged gauge was a crack-smoking fiend. Frogging ensued. Drawing board has been revisited.
I ate up the rest of the spinach and lemon, this time with rice. It was good.
I thought about, but did not actually achieve, the baking of the sand tarts. I did photograph the moravian spice cookies and bag them up so that they didn't get covered in cat hair. Some of those will be given away here directly to brother-the-younger during the late evening portion of the program.
Most of the rest of the day, I watched an excessive amount of Maison Ikkoku.
I have no idea what the damn neighbor Yotsuya does for a living but they're going to have to tell us eventually. I like him even though he dresses like Secret Agent Man a lot of the time.
Akemi-chan needs to wear more freaking clothes. She's definitely cold running about in that negligee -- I can see her nipples from here.
Godai is our main character. He has all the resolute determination of a wet noodle in his singleminded nonpursuit of Kyoko, the landlady. (It WOULD be pursuit if he had any resolute determination, but he doesn't.) He gets Kyoko alone on New Year's and he completely drops the ball, over and over. Man, if this were hentai, there would be no hesitating. I could understand IF he were too noble to, y'know, make a move. I could understand that. But this... completely fanboy lusting followed by a total failure to follow through? I don't get it. I understand it's the genre, but dang. He should grow a spine.
Now, our man Mitaka has rival who does not get the girl written all over him. He's got good hair and gleaming teeth. (That's so damn funny. Every time he gets the gleam thing, I laugh. V. funny.) And he can cook. And he's got a nice car. And he's got some measure of social graces AND a halfway decent job. Therefore, we can tell that he does not get the girl. It is still amusing as hell watching him try.
The late evening portion of the program will involve a trip to York so that I can drive home brother-the-elder's new car and leave it in the valley for brother-the-elder when he shows up for the holiday. Brother-the-younger is coming out this way anyhow to get beef for the making of beef jerky, is why the trip.
