which_chickI mowed grass yesterday at work. Lest you think that this is like mowing your lawn at your house, it's not. Mowing the grass means you load up the truck with mowers and gas and such and you start mowing at eight, break an hour for lunch, and mow until 4 PM. There is not any non-mowing time beyond what it takes to reload the truck and proceed to the next mowing site. I also lifted the mower in and out of the truck eight times (we have more properties than this but some are contiguous so you don't need to put the mower on the truck to get from one to another) and drank three liters of water. Mowing days at work are actual (force x distance) = Work days. *sigh*
Today, unless something explodes, I will be doing the floors at Terrace 4 and, if all goes well, putting in the carpet we got bound (The Terrace has tile floors so we don't attach the carpet to the floor -- we just get sized pieces bound and unroll them on the floor) for the living room. If I get that done, it'll be finished and ready to rent. We also have upstairs at 218 -- Sam's apartment -- coming empty as of Monday and I think there will also be another two-bedroom at the Terrace. Both of those are probably going to need some work, but I don't know how much yet. That should take most of next week and probably some of the week after.
The neighbor lady next to the trailer at 629 wants the shit cleaned out from beside her fence. The previous owner of the trailer left lots of boards and shit behind the trailer and it looks like hell. The lady has a point -- it needs to be cleaned up. There is a new owner of the trailer -- perhaps we can get her to clean this shit, which she inherited from the previous owner, up. Perhaps. I dunno. I rather suspect, though, that it's going to wind up with me moving the shit. There's also a mattress tucked in between 629 and the fence next to it, like they thought we wouldn't see it there. Jesus Fuck. How damn stupid do they think we are? Not seeing a mattress? It's fucking huge. Those little projects, though, are going to have to wait until we have the drop box back in town. Right now it's in the valley for the summer people to throw their shit in.
