I completed the toolbox/tools/arting supplies project for Trysta's boy Mordecai.

Here is the green toolbox (he likes green) which I made with one can of spraypaint. While you cannot see all of it, believe me, it's all green and all the non-green parts were nicely masked off because I do care about stuff like that.

I made quick-n-dirty hand pies for Lala. These were cherry flavor.

I have previously discussed how to make cherry hand pies. At this juncture the recipe (lol) has settled to 2 Tbsp of sugar in the cherries, 2 Tbsp of sugar in the pastry dough for pate-not-quite-sucree because that shit is way too sweet and we just want a fucking hint of sweet here. It's cherry. Cherry is not fucking sweet. It's tart, sharp, clean. But anyway otherwise it's pretty much as described there. Because I was doing it for us and not for a crowd, I only did four balls. Bigger hand pies is... not a bad thing.

Hand pies have become my go-to fruit pastry item along with tarte tatin. I don't make real pies anymore. These things are a fuckton easier than real pie and taste pretty much the same with less... wet. I do black raspberry and also sour cherry. (I and my audience do not like blueberries, so... not gonna happen over here. If you DO like blueberries, they'd work fine.)

From Lala, I got a great towel, a really great, waffle-weave towel. It is better than regular towels. Get one. It is awesome. Also, four bottles of eyeball vitamins (they were on sale at Costco and they're pricey when not on sale) which don't expire until 2026 so I will be able to eat them all before they go bad. And wool dryer balls for fabric softening purposes. I'm not sure I believe in dryer balls but I'm willing to give them a try. Can't hurt. Also they are unscented, which is great.

Mom is recycling her unwanted pots for houseplants to me for the cactus and houseplant project, which is nice. I haven't gotten those yet but they are coming my way and will be much appreciated.

Dad and the brothers don't much xmas me nor I them. We're all adults with solid incomes, particular tastes, and weird, randomly changing hobbies. Unless one of us sees a solid gift idea, there is no gift. And that's fine. I'd rather no gift than ... stuff... that I have to keep because of guilt about throwing it away.
