Potholders, completed and in progress...

which_chickSo I have a friend Lala which makes it sound like I don't have a ton of friends. I have some friends but as I'm not actually all that social and also kind of odd, I don't have a ton of friends. I don't make them easily and I don't accumulate too many because it's exhausting. So, I guess that's fair enough. Anyway, I made her some knitted potholders here a while ago, along about the beginning of the month.
I don't photograph my work much, but Lala does. Potato-quality, but whatever. Here are the potholders I knitted for her:
They're two colors because she likes that kind of neon green.
They're two colors because that makes a pattern.
They're two colors because two-color knitting makes a thick enough thing to block the heat where single-layer knitting does not. (In two-color knitting, the unused yarn "floats" along the back side of the fabric, offering an additional layer of insulation.)
They're two colors.
So, Lala facebooked these potholders, I guess because she was proud of them or thankful for them or whatever. I dunno. They wound up on facebook.
Meanwhile in the aftermath of the Lala potholders, I had cast on the first of a pair of potholders for my mom. She has old ones I made for her, but they are getting ratty (like Lala's old ones are getting ratty) so I figured I would make her some.
My mom posts on Lala's facebook: "Checked ones in gold are SO lovely...perhaps they would go with traditional gift of garden toppings. Mom" (She signs her facebook posts. I've tried to explain that there are no unattributed comments on facebook, but it is useless. She's gonna do what she's gonna do.)
I hate that she does this. I'm aware of the state of her potholders. I am aware that she wants new ones. It is not like I don't fucking know. It is not like I have some inability to select an appropriate color scheme. I can prove it.
See that? What does that look like? Does that look like it might be gold and white? Mayhap?
And now I'm pissed. I don't want to make potholders for my mother anymore.
I mean, I will. I'm more than 3/4 of the way through the first one. I'll do them. But it was fun before and now it's just fucking entitlement like she can say things and make me do stuff and I am NOT HAVING FUN ANYMORE.
