I do not like it when...



I do not like it when people ask for my advice and then do not take the advice that I offer. Given the frequency with which this happens, though, I could save us all a lot of time by dispatching all such queries with a reusable piece of easily-ignored advice whose primary virtues would be brevity and amusement value.

So. Help me come up with some reusable advice that will be brief and amusing and equally (un)suitable for all occasions. Gentlefolk, the floor is yours.

Dude, yeah. Why ask questions when you've already set up a correct answer? Save my time and just do what you were gonna do anyway.

That's somewhat lacking on the amusement front, though... needs to be punchier. And where's Dan Savage, my go-to guy for advice of the Really Useful sort?
