Update to the Warm and Sunny: Two feet of snow. It stopped snowing about 2 PM today.
Road to my house is mostly passable, though plow roll is worrisome. There's not a lot of places to PUT two feet of snow. Roads elsewhere not so much -- didn't want to do them in the dark of night. Not doing the one to your house anytime soon anyway (discourages theft). Other side needs to be at least given a lick and a promise before someone decides that visiting in the wake of the blizzard is a good idea. Maybe I'll doze it tomorrow. Plow truck is parked just past my house, obstructing road to the upper four houses. I need to clean out my driveway morebetter before I can turn the plow truck around.
All sidewalks have been snowthrown. (By 8 PM at night, given a 2' snowfall that stopped at 2 PM.) I bought ramps from Tractor Supply, best hundred dollars I have spent in a *long* time. Snowthrower has been working like a champ, started easily every time, loads on and off truck very easily with New Aluminum Ramps. (I got the solid, not-hinged kind. In aluminum. Hundred bucks for the pair.)
Courtesy visit to your mother to prove that I was not dead or injured: accomplished. Is there some way that you can convince her that the bulldozer is not particularly dangerous? It's getting old explaining that it isn't.
Route 30 still looks like shit and it's 8 degrees outside.
Also, could not get Cub Cadet (bucket loader) to start even after sticking it on the charger for rather a while. Had to use small grey snowthrower (which did start) to snowthrow my truck free at the lodge, which took up more time than I was really happy about. Lodge driveway not cleared out, cannot easily be cleared out unless I can get bucket loader to run. Do not wish to snowthrow lodge driveway with small grey snowthrower. :( Cannot get plow truck back up lodge driveway without addressing huge amount of snow on lodge driveway. :( May work on bucket loader more tomorrow. Did not have time today, was running out of daylight and wound up snowthrowing in the fucking dark anyway.
