Aug. 14th, 2009 09:58 pmI've been slacking off on horse evenings because it's been too hot. Today, it was cool enough to go out and put some time on the red idiot. We did flat work, mostly transitions and baby-steps at contact, not acting like an ass when picking up the trot (needs work) and relaxed cantering (also needs work) and lateral work at the walk (really quite good for half-pass, passable at shoulder-in) and trot (decent effort at half-pass. Not getting any bending at all when asked for, so no shoulder-in. More work needed. Horse still thinks all leg cues at the trot mean "accellerate".). It was a good outing.
After that, I got careless with the mandolin and now have nine working fingers and one finger that is not quite so functional. It's screwing up my typing. (I still *have* ten fingers, but one of them is kind of sliced on the end.)
My omelet skills are improving. Daily practice does wonders.
