I put in a water heater at work today. I also removed and threw away the old water heater. (This was at 216, the sole electric one there.) Following work, I went over to do pony.
It would have gone better if there had not been wild turkeys. Goof spent the entire post-turkey portion of the ride convinced that the single wild turkey that we saw far off (it chirped or whatever and fled the scene on foot) was heading off to get reinforcements. Every single leaf that twitched in the wind (and it was windy) for the rest of the ride represented part of the invisible turkey army that was stalking her. Needless to say, our efforts at sane and coherent canter departures were not particularly fruitful. Oh, we cantered. We did. Sideways. Vertically. Sideways AND vertically, at times. However, it was not a particularly stellar outing. *sigh* This happens sometimes. Away from the scary, turkey-infested woods, we did somewhat better and worked some nice, fairly solid circles at the walk. Sitting trot actually went pretty well too, b/c we worked on that BEFORE the turkey part of the ride.
Tomorrow is another day, hopefully a turkey-free one.
Then I got home and fixed up a fire (it's still cold out at night in these parts) and started with the curry. Tonight's effort started on P. 370: Garlic Infused Split Black Lentils. I added cauliflower (because it was getting to the edge of the use or lose freshness line) and then added some skin-on split black lentils b/c the heat from the Overly Strong Jalapenos did not ease while they were in the fridge for a week. I only used three (the recipe calls for four) and I couldn't eat the damn thing when it was done... so I added more lentils. (Extra lentils are cooked on the side in a different pan. I add them and their juice to the main too-hot-to-eat curry when they're cooked so that the main curry doesn't get overcooked. In an ideal world, I would not have to do this because the jalapenos would be of a predictable heat instead of being mild for weeks so that I am lulled into a sense of security and then scalding hot so that my food comes out inedible.)
