which_chickLots of news overnight.
1. Bettie Page (once a pin-up girl) died. Bettie was very look-at-able in her day.
2. Bernard Madoff (whom you probably have not yet heard of), upstanding wall street dude of long tenure, admitted to running a great big old Ponzi scheme of a hedge fund. He's facing charges.
3. Doesn't look like we're going to bail out Detroit. Senate talks fell apart last night.
4. Markets down sharply in asia/europe overnight on the autofail issue, going to be a rough day for the Street here, too. Many Sad Traders will be Sad, I bet. (Despite spreading and invasive economic woes, LOLFed remains funny.)
Are we watching Rome burn yet? (Current song is about pyro. I guess you could read it as a statement of addictive, destructive behavior in a broader sense, but mostly it's about setting shit on fire. Yay.)
