Ghirardelli's chocolate chips are 16 to 15 grams. One ounce is about 28 and 1/3 grams. The recipe for ganache calls for six oz of chocolate. (The reason I am not buying the easy-to-measure bar of Ghirardelli is that it's about four dollars more per pound than the fucking chips. Same chocolate, higher price. The bars are a total fucking rip-off.)

So (doing math, which is not exactly hard so much as it is tedious) six ounces of chips is a hundred and eighty-one chips. I am putting this in memories b/c I do not want to ever have to sit down and figure this out again.

Six ounces of chocolate, at four dollars a pound more in cost, is an additional $1.50. So you're paying yourself eight tenths of a cent for each chip that you count out.
