Especially if you play it out to its conclusion. Wherein your reward for having beaten the game is having your avatar possessed by the evil spirit & your subsequent enslavement. Way to program for despair, gamewrights!

It also has a bell-curve difficulty profile - very hard to get over the early-middle hump, and after that - easier and easier.

I too played that game for hours, I have the glowing frame score on all but the last level, last epic boss guy just walked past everything I had. :(

I'm still playing with it -- once you've leveled up all your stuff, it's pretty easy to glowing-frame the game. Then you get secret levels or whatever, which I would like to have done for the sake of completeness.

Yeah, I've gotten all that, beat everything but the very last level.

Is there a different last level than the one that takes over your guy? 'Cause that one I beat by saving up enough mana to banish the bad guy a couple of times so that he had to make several laps of the circuit. Still took over my guy, though.

That's how I ended up doing, and no thats the last level i played too. I'm looking forward to the second chapter though.
