This evening I went to a meeting about the planned overpass/bridge removal on I-70 over top of Lodge Road. They want to take out the overpass and make a large earthen birm thing that I-70 can go on. This will cost two million dollars and not need to be maintained like the current overpass/bridge thing. Doing a replacement overpass/bridge thing will cost seven million dollars, which is a lot of money and a lot more when you don't have it.
Lodge Road is right back of Ede's house, we rode through the underpass to get to the state forest on last summer's conditioning ride with Gillian and also on our 24 mile prep ride-before-the-ride. If they take out the underpass, we can't get to the state forest from there without doing mileage on Old 126, which is a busy, truck-laden road that is not very suitable for pony riding.
While I was at the meeting (at the Breezewood Fire Hall) from 5:30 to 6:30, my cat Youbee escaped into the night. Apparently I'd not gotten the front door all the way closed. She's not back yet and it's well past feed-the-cat time. I'm somewhat worried. (The older, more sedate cat did not leave the house despite the fact that the door was hanging wide open. She was on the couch when I got home, just where I left her.)
