A week later, Embarq still seems to feel that we have a credit in the amount of fifty thousand dollars. I called today to inquire about that. The lady I talked to wanted to know what our phone bill "usually" ran. I allowed as how before we got rid of that damn clusterfuck it was around 7K per month but now that we were having two voice lines and a fax line, we expected it to be about a hundred dollars a month and, therefore, did not feel that we would be able to work off fifty thousand dollars of credit in a reasonable time frame. I inquired about the possibility of getting a refund check. I got shifted into voice mail, so I left a voicemail message. It will take a lot more than voicemail to get me to give up on fifty thousand dollars.

Assuming our current phone setup costs about $100.00 per month, fifty thousand dollars would pay the phone bill for approximately forty-one years. I think they need to send us a check.

How the heck does one run a $7k/m phone bill in the first place?

One runs an ISP. All them thar phone lines for people to dial into? They aren't free.
