Turns out that yesterday, the kid DID NOT go to the show like she claimed she was going to on Friday night. However, she didn't call and inform me of her plans so no horse outing yesterday. Today it's kind of grey and rainy so I'm not in the mood to horse outing anyway. I do have some paperwork to get done for the horse event but that's not going to take terribly long.
It took me longer than expected to get to the damn show because I had a flat tire in Everett (which I changed in the parking lot of the hardware store -- hardware person helpfully drove me up the street to the tire place to get a new tire b/c the spare that came with my car DOES NOT work on my car. Argh.) and then I had to set up Sj's telephone thing and then I did, eventually, get to the fairgrounds. The show was kind of neat, all the usual suspects, but not the kid or her pony. Oh, well. I took some pictures, nothing spectacular, and chatted up assorted horse people about the nosebleed thing. More horses than I'd suspected suffer these and they don't seem to be a major problem. Ping had me read the section in her manual of horse health care about it, and that said the same thing (EIPH, gutteral pouch mycosis, non-recurring-weird-thing) that the internetwebmotron had already told me.
After that, I went grocery shopping and visited brother-the-younger and company at The Big House, where we had mojitos and watched Jericho.
Incidentally, I was at the hardware to pick up a plastic thingie to connect the toilet handle to the flapper thing that lets the water out of the toilet. Mine sheared off due to plastic fatigue and thus the toilet has (for two days) been a manual-assist flushing device. I was sufficiently unamused by the manual-assist flushing to buy a replacement part in two days, which should give you some idea of how unamusing I thought it was. I fixed that this morning, before coffee.
