I don't get out much, really. Hadn't realized I was missing out on a moral imperative, though. I'll put it into my roster of action items straight away, though. (I have Netflix. I've had the same movie, which I want to watch, on my coffee table for a month and a half. I want to watch things. The problem is that I want to do other stuff MORE than I want to watch movies. The internets, she is a terrible temptation.)

You're worse than I am, then. Do you live in a cave or something?

If they are looking for films I've seen start to finish, I'm at 21. If you add films that I've seen substantial parts of at one time or another but not actually watched beginning to end in one sitting, the total goes up to 39. Yes, it's shocking I know, but I have been known to be channel flipping, stop on a movie in progress, watch 30 or 60 minutes, and then turn off the TV to go do something else. Or pick two or three channels (one of which may have had a movie on the above list) and do channel surfing between them for a period of a few hours, esp when commercials hit. There are times I have a rather short attention span...

But I also highly recommend both The Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby as films to watch. They are two of my all time favorite films.

The Godfather. Page 26.

Please see Lawrence of Arabia.

Aside from the slash value, it is an incredible film.

Fifty, not counting ones where I've seen twenty minutes here and there, like Bringing up Baby and the Marx Brothers movies. Why Forrest Gump, Titanic and Fellowship of the Rings are on that list and Fight Club or the Matrix isn't is beyond me. Or American Graffiti and the French Connection but not the Conversation, for that matter.

Maybe it's the top hundred movies which don't make our aging, middlebrow membership feel uncomfortable? The top one hundred movies you could safely watch with your grandmother? Oops, no, there's Midnight Cowboy there, isn't there? (I haven't seen it, but isn't that the one with the male prostitutes & the "X" rating, back before that got associated irreparably with porn & they replaced it with NC-17?)
