Today at work we mowed grass. I, of course, like mowing grass so much that I save it for special occasions and haven't done my own lawn yet this year. The mowing went pretty well, with the nearly-healed hand and all.

Still no check from the badpayer. :( The registered mail things haven't come back yet, either, but I mailed 'em late Friday and they might not have gotten there yet. I must be patient.

I had a pretty good visit with the Evil Perio Guy today. All 2's and 3's with one 4 and three 1's. This is mm of gum depth, measured with a periodontal probe. People with good "normal" gums have mm depths of 1-2mm. Depths of greater than 3 mm indicate periodontal disease. Because periodontal disease is managed rather than cured, keeping them from getting any worse is as much victory as there is to be had in this game and I'm not doing badly.

I took lilacs to grandma, stole them from Sue's house at 315 N. Richard. We used to get the grandma lilacs from Roy's house, but he sold it and I don't think the new people want me to come slaughter their lilacs.

I took pictures of table runners for Jackie, who makes-n-quilts-n-sells them for fun and profit at assorted crafty functions (like the Appleblossom thing that Heather and I went to last weekend). I need to burn those to CD for her this evening. I also need to put all of the Festival pictures onto CD for Heather. (Cue Sean Paul: We Be Burnin')

I need to update the welsh pony webpage with a bunch of stuff for Tasha.

I need to come up with something to take to the thing on Saturday. I said it'd be a "vegetable side" so probably I should come up with something that fits that definition. I also need to find out if I will have housing in town there or if I need to call my mother and tell her I'll be driving down to Baltimore as of Saturday night. The housing could help things along on that front by replying to the email I sent. (Hint, hint) I also need scotch tape because duct and electrical are all I have in the house and those simply won't suit.

Meatly hasn't had her baby yet, though she's looking sort of pressed about it. That'll probably be sometime this week or next.

How did Meatly's foal from last year turn out? I remember you posting that she'd dropped, but I don't remember hearing anything about the baby after that.

Last baby (chestnut filly) is not mine, nor do I plan on keeping her. She's not named, hasn't been handled much, is not particularly easy to catch, and may not tie or lead. Mostly, she needs to be sold.

I didn't want the last baby, didn't breed the mare this time, refuse to support any babies, and am not involved with that in any way, shape, or form. (Meatly is pretty much a slut, gets out and chases after the stud, as is the case again this year. The only reason she is not sterilized is that it is prohibitively expensive -- a couple grand -- to spay mares. We have moved the stud off the farm so hopefully this issue is solved.)

I thought the owner of the mare owned the babies?

Well, hopefully with the stallion moved away Meatly'll avoid getting knocked up again and you'll have your (relatively sane) mare back. :D

You are, of course, welcome to stay at our house, but it'd be almost like driving home again so...

Oh hell, I'm sorry. I read that email but it was *huge* and I didn't figure out what you were obliquely asking. It is a daunting email.

Before event-giving parties notified me of the event, I had already scheduled this weekend with my parents (yep, in/around Baltimore!) It is for the Peter birthday celebrating. Also doubles as Mom's Day plus the first time I've seen Mom or brother since their respective birthdays.

I've recently emerged from the cave of Second Anthropology Paper and was planning to answer that email (still have the final exam, though). Did I mention it is a big and daunting email?

Sorry it was big and daunting. I could (a) send smaller, less-amusing, less-daunting emails or (b) attach a bottle of Wet Platinum or something to encourage you to try your best to accommodate said emails. :P Please let me know which option you prefer.
