I mentioned the making of bread yesterday. The bread, she is good. (Yes, I do let the freshly-baked loaf cool completely before hacking it into pieces. I am not eight years old. I can wait.) Also I am having of the corned beef and cabbage. While I am aware that it's more traditional to have had corned beef and cabbage last weekend, it's cheaper and just as tasty this weekend.

I am visiting brother-the-younger for moving house tomorrow. I called and asked if I should bring my dolly and he said, "By all means." He is very lucky to have a sister who plays with dollies.

And in the mail, today, I got notice that I'd received more money that I should not have gotten. I'm sure everyone recalls the $1600 that I got from a loan-ee who hadn't carefully marked the payments off on the amortization schedule I handed out with the loan. I voided it and mailed it back to him with an explanatory note requesting the fifty-odd dollars he really *did* owe me. Today I got a letter from my bank telling me that someone else had wired me eight hundred and change for a loan that was actually all paid off at the end of February. I'm going to give it back, not that you even had to ask, but dang. If this is some kind of a test, I'm getting tired of answering the same question. Can we mix it up a bit, please? Maybe some of my married guy friends can hit on me or something. That'd be good for variety...

Attention loan-ee people! I give you a personalized amortization schedule free with every loan. Your amortization schedule is Mr. Helpful Paper. For each payment, it tells you how much is interest and how much is principle. It tells you the amount remaining on the loan at the end of every payment so that you can pay me off at any time should you happen into a large sum of money and choose to forego the delights of paying me seven percent in filthy lucre to further my vile and ruinous schemes against the innocent poor. I am not giving you sheets of paper with lots of numbers in tidy columns to be annoying. I am giving you Mr. Helpful Paper so that you can mark off your payments when you do them and thus will be able to tell when your loan is done. Please keep Mr. Helpful Paper around (I suggest sticking him to the fridge with some magnets) and be sure to visit him at least once a month so that he does not get lonely. That is all.
