Mar. 21st, 2006 01:13 pmSomeone is offering me a free DVD screener of a recent version of Moby Dick. Seriously. In my email. It looks real. There's a press release attached. The headers are clean and *very* realistic looking. It's way too coherent to be spam. I am not entirely sure why anyone would want to send me a free screener version of Moby, faithful to the original or not, because I don't really think that my reading of Moby is particularly useful to others. It's a fandom wank, only using real literature. However, free screener versions do not come along every dynasty. I believe I'll take him up on that and see what happens. What could possibly go wrong?

Date: 2006-03-21 06:01 pm (UTC)Let us know how it is. The Spouse and I took 9 months to read that particular novel out loud to each other when the elder spawn was decanted. It took us way longer than we'd expected. We were amazed at the humor (which we'd forgotten from our previous readings) in the beginning, but lost much of that after we got on in chapters.
