Is there anyone else going to be at the Halloween function who would like me to bring them a pint of grape jelly? (Home-made by me.) The hosts have agreed to take one off my hands... [livejournal.com profile] sara_merry99, you guys said you'd take one, are you going to be there? Anyone else? Bueller? Bueller?

Let me know before early AM on Saturday, please.

It's made out of concord grapes. I seem to recall that neither you nor Karl nor the kidlets enjoy blue concord grapes and you let yours on the vine for the birds. If you're sure you will still eat it anyway despite it's reddish purple concordosity, I'll bring it, but if that's a deal-breaker for you, let me know and I'll leave it at home.

oh, hell. I meant its. It's early and I'm not through the first coffee yet. Also, stupid LJ does not have much editing ability for the comments. Buggerit.

Concord grape jelly is what we usually get. We just don't eat the grapes out back. There's sort of a difference. But I can't explain it.

I'd love one, but Abner and I have heard nothing about a Halloween function. Can you hold one for me until later?

I can set one aside for you, but I haven't the foggiest when I'll see you. Ivy's not doing a new year's thing this year, I don't attend meetings for The Con anymore, and I haven't heard jack about GWO, which is usually in November. Probably you should email me a mailing address and I'll wrap it up well and ship it to you. At least that way you'll get it before the next crop of grapes comes in.

Yeah, that sounds like an excellent plan. Alternatively we could just try and make plans to get together at some point (we don't need an occasion :) ).

I tried to start the ball rolling on a GWO, but it didn't take. *sigh*

I'll send you my street addy.

Sadly, I can't seem to plan anything ... well, for the past couple of years. I'd love to have everyone up to my house again, but we're very broke. So no parties for a while. We can't really even afford to go out to eat.

We are working our way out, but every time we turn around the Queen Emeraldas needs some more repair work. The last bill for the truck was $1020 that we were not expecting.

And then... there's the trip to Italy and Greece. No, not for us. For the younger spawn, who is fundraising at the moment. My Mom is taking the elder to Alaska with her in June, and has promised the majority of the funding for the younger's trip. But we still need to raise (counts on fingers)about $1600 by next June. I think we'll manage it, although the M.I.L. has taken as violent a negative response to this trip as she did to the Australia one that the elder took two years ago (when *she* was in 5th grade). M.I.L. states that we did irreparable harm to the elder by forcing her on that trip (her words). My elder was startled to hear that, as she considers that trip one of the best things that has happened in her life.

The funny thing is that when my dad found out the elder was going to Australia, he decided to take the younger to California. When my mom (no, they're not married now) found out the younger was interested in the P2P trip to Europe, she decided to take the elder to Alaska. It's all sort of working out.

And yes, I'm aware that none of this has to do with Grape Jelly. But I'd really like us to do some sort of Girls' Weekend Out. And I have the space if people want to come up here. But no funds, so we'd have to really split up the food and stuff.
