It's really nice out today but it's a bit warm for playing horse on my somewhat fuzzy horse. So, instead, I'm getting things done. Go me!
I burned up all the cut-off Mock Orange branches. All gone, not cluttering up yard. Yay!
I took 4 buckets and one crate of books in to the drop box (which is nearly full and will be emptied in the week to come. Then I cut two lawns for work. Then I got my tools for deconstruction of unwanted dead furniture in book room.
Then I came home and loaded up six buckets and 2 crates for another trip to the drop box which will happen in about twenty minutes. For those keeping track... today is 10 buckets and 3 crates out. Yeah. Metric fuckton of books, here. Book room is about half, maybe a little less than half, done on the first pass of book culling. And, note, I am not getting rid of ALL the books, just most of them.
I am refusing to feel bad about this. If you have not opened the books in twenty years and do not intend to open them in the next twenty years, then... then... (and I am whispering in italic heresy, here)... why do you have them? Decor? Inertia?
Lolnope. I do not need them. I do not define myself by them. And, honestly, I would like to repaint and refloor and redo-the-heat in the book room. It's been twenty years since I moved in and I think I would like to redo it. And... it'll be a lot easier to work with if there's less stuff in there.
After trip to drop box, I need to hit grocery and move hay for the ponies (this is a weekly chore) and do evening feeding/water check for the ponies.
