which_chickNetflix recommends things to me. It recommended this. It's anime.
Hadn't read the manga, had no idea what the hell it was, this thing was not even remotely on my radar.
All the episodes in one evening, it is now two AM. I should have gone to bed like four episodes ago. Making Good Adult Choices is my entire lifestyle over here. *sigh*
The back-of-the-envelope pitch is that this is shogunate Japan, wherein like 3/4 of all the men die from some plague and the population stabilizes with 3/4 fewer men than normal. It gets a lot of mileage out of that one concept, though, sometimes in very unexpected directions.
Probably worth the missed sleep.
