Dressage clinic coming up...
Aug. 13th, 2020 02:42 pmWe have a dressage clinic coming up at the end of August, so like two weeks away. It's per the usual, with DLB who has seen us plenty of times before. Unlike our previous effort, horse has been more or less sound and in regular work. He's getting fitter, or at least I like to think he's getting fitter.
With the regular work, he is buffing up a little. Horse buffing is pretty much only in the eyes of the owner. It's not like a random stranger is going to go WOW HE IS SO VERY BUFF like he's one of those Belgian Blue cattle with the myostatin mutation. He's an Arab. Compared to a standard bulldog-style Quarter Horse, he looks frail and waiflike.
Here him is, as of Yesterday. I have added red arrows so you can tell where to look for the buffness. He is nine this year.
Dis him Last Year (2019) in August. No red arrows, here, sorry.

I should do some stand-up shots, so that it's easier to compare him to himself instead of trying to mentally map this 3/4 view from behind to a straight-out-from-the-side shot. Perhaps I will make an effort on that front. One never knows.
We've been working on our DLB goals, with some progress.
