Still Getting More From Horse Using Aids
Sep. 9th, 2019 06:22 amChanging habits takes a lot of practice of Doing The New Thing. I am practicing. It sucks but we are making headway. Birb is working harder. I am being more consistent and having Higher Standards (a very nice line of leather care products in lovely scents, see here) about his level of effort. It's going along.
There's a dressage show (last one of the season at our teeny little not-very-local* show venue) not this weekend (I'm going to Boston to visit the cousin and some art museums) but the next wherein I will attempt Intro B and Intro C once more.
If I score in the mid-sixties, again, as per the last two outings (disregarding the horrific not-breathing Intro B we did first time out) it's time to move up. Three consecutive scores in the mid-sixties means probably it's time to move to harder things. My goal here is progression through the levels and not throwing down the World's Best Intro B test. I say this while attempting to not cast shade upon the people for whom performing the World's Best Intro B test is #goals. I realize I am failing.
The stuff in the Intro tests which was impossible to do well is now too easy for us. Since I don't like shit in public riding these tests, I would like to move on to things I cannot do reasonably well so that I can go back to looking like shit in public. Because this is fun.
I think there may be something wrong with me.
