Bird for Canter Sets

This was our first effort at three canter sets, three trips each way on the new and expanded route. Go us!
He is so damn workmanlike. And steady. Such a good boy!
And three trips each lead is six trips of 470 meters. Times six is 2820 meters, which is 1.75 miles. (There is a walk break in between each canter effort. Couple of bites of grass, about a minute of downtime to give him some recovery.)
Horse is not breaking much of a sweat for this but I pick low-humidity days that aren't super hot so that he can cool off easily. As the summer wears on, he'll probably get sweatier doing canter sets. (I already get sweaty doing canter sets but my two-point is improving.)
How fast are we going? Reader, I do not know. I will have to look into it. Right now we're still working on steady and calm and whatnot. It is starting to look like that stuff is under control, though. If I remember, next week I will turn on MapMyRun and see if we can get a speed. But that's not a primary goal, here. Steady, calm, and pleasant. Better position for rider, more security for both of us, confident and comfortable in the work. There is always time for fast later.
