Nice day out with O and A, two of the triumvirate of Dreadful Children with whom I am doing Conditioning Rides.
Today we did 5.58 miles in 1:17. We need to be going faster. Our trotting sections are getting slightly better -- now doing an average of 7 mph at the trot -- and I've been working on asking A. to extend the trot with Callie so that we can get it to 8 mph by ride time.
No crying today, just "I don't understand what you mean by 'post bigger'!" and "I'm *trying* to get her to trot faster..." Definitely these things are improvements over "OMG I AM GOING TO DIE!!!" comments on the speed of our trotting, so yay. A. needs help on two-point or something so that she can trot downhill more securely. (She doesn't think she can post going downhill. Time, give it time. She didn't used to be able to post going uphill, either.)
