which_chickI am happy to report that I have blown the ENTIRE productive part of the day on rereading WK fanfic to background music of Rammstein. I did this instead of laundry, instead of keeping the fire going (it went out while I was reading), and instead of visiting the pony on a non-raining day of daylight that wasn't too hideously cold.
If I weren't already doomed to the Christians' nonexistant hell for a variety of other, far more mortal sins, what I did with today would probably have done it... there's a multiplier effect for combining sins. The seven deadlies are Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. Lust is that delightful fire of the loins, yadda yadda yadda. Yay lust. Gluttony is restricted to things to do with food. Greed is primarily focused on material gain. Sloth is failure to be all that you can be. It's a sin of omission instead of a sin of wanting too much (which arguably, the first three are overwanting of sex, food, and money, respectively.) Wrath is anger, unchecked. Envy is the first three sins adapted for poor people, who can't really be all that lustful, gluttonous, or greedy due to being poor. But they can *want* to be, right, and that's Envy. And then there's Pride, for all the people selfrighteous to think that they don't have any of the first six sins. If you think that, you've got the last, which is Pride.
Lust && Sloth is totally worth more than either one alone (2-Chain) and Lust && Sloth && Gluttony (I ate rather a lot of the xmas chocolates to keep my strength up) gave me a 3-Chain! effect. There's also a bonus for stringing together multiple instances of a given sin uninterrupted by any productive or wholesome activity. This is so that you rack up a greater score for sustained effort, kind of like when you get a string of notes correct in Guitar Hero. By the time I was done, the laptop screen was glowing with the seriousness of my achievement.
But I'm bored now, so am going to find a lightbulb for the living room and put the case on the computer (finished and assembled and working and stuff) for T and pack all that crap up into my car so that it's not in my living room. I'm going to take the trash out and start a load of wash. I'm going to find a decent curry recipe and cobble together some dinner. I'm going to listen to my learning-german CDs and talk along with the poor students as they (and I) fail at german grammar. (I swear, that shit is like doing battle. It's exhausting.) This does not mean I'm bored with Japanese... but I've gone through the entirety of the currently-available Japanese and apparently I am not exactly "beginner" level b/c that stuff was too easy. I need harder than "beginner" and not so hard as "fluent". The language learning stuff that I have has buckets of german material, the which is helpful for understanding and singing along with the current fascination, so yay. It's a win.
