As you recall, we had Jonesy braize (or braise or whatever. It's something weld-ish.) the furnace yesterday. Today, we added water to the furnace. It still leaks. We put three bottles of stop-leak into it and heated the water up (because stop-leak works a lot better if the water is warm) and now it leaks somewhat less. I'm not sure it's fixed because when we tried to put pressure on it (compressed air), there was no pressure to be had. Further investigative work revealed that the baseboard INSIDE THE APARTMENT had frozen and split in several inaccessible locations. Yay. So, that's what we did today. Stop-leak and playing with dead baseboard. Not sure if furnace is non-leaking now or not. Pretty glad we didn't put down carpet in the living room yet. We did the kitchen floor in the pop-n-lock laminate flooring b/c we've looked at that at the store endlessly and always wondered how it would hold up. Now, we will KNOW how it will hold up. This R XPERIMNT.

We're taking Thurs. and Friday off for the holiday weekend. I'm making crescent dinner rolls to take to Jackie's and I need to get that dough mixed up and in the fridge pronto. It needs to get done before any more spinning (way fun) or fiber processing (also way fun). Fiber arts activities are taking place to the background of Fushigi Yuugi, which is currently at disk 2 of the first set. I *heart* Nakago even though he dresses funny. Yui gets the traditional Thirty Pieces of Silver and I'd also award her Shitty End of the Stick except she already has it. Tamahome still gets my award for Most Tolerant Man on the Planet and of course we're giving Miaka the coveted Whelk in a Supernova survival skills medallion. Hotohori gets the Legolas Perpetual "Still the Prettiest" mirror as well as the Go Ahead, Admit You're Gay Adam Pierson Paintbrush.

New favorite thing: Looking for Group, primarily because I'm in love with Richard the Warlock. He's eponymous and he gets some of the very best villian dialogue that I've ever seen. Yes, it is sort of one-note, but it's a very good note. Also, the level of satire is sufficient to amuse me. Worth a look for those with some free time, though occasionally the scenes read as cluttered to me and I think they could do with better blocking. (I ran into this on Ravelry, due to the words "For Pony" and the abbreviation LFG. In my world, LFG means "Live Foal Guarantee" so I was thinking it was, y'know, a horses-n-knitting thing. It wasn't, but I'm not unhappy about the discovery.)
