Of course you're all interested in the last day of riding at Tasha's house. As regular readers are aware, Nick's been visiting at Tasha's for the last week because Cass (the sprout with whom I ride) has been in Philadelphia this past week for something more important than conditioning her pony. (Not sure what that might be, but what-evah.) Anyway, since we didn't have anyone to ride with at home, we went over to Tasha's and rode with her for the week.
What regular readers might NOT be aware of is that the routes we ride are available on my google maps thing so that anyone who wants to attempt to waylay us in the !remote mountains can do so. The rest of ya'll can just be awed at our prowess. The google map is here but Google doesn't show stuff like, y'know, elevation, more's the pity. I have USGS maps but not links to the ones online at the moment. You'll just have to use your imaginations for the elevations and stuff. Also, the USGS maps do not let you draw on them.
The horse was a trooper. I'm getting used to the English saddle, which is still fitting her great. Nick has a gigantic walk compared to Tasha's horses. The only one who keeps up with her at the walk is Chance, the pink TWH gelding. Nick's trot ain't all that -- fast but unsmooth. Her canter, though, is quite nice and she did well today with the two cars we encountered. The cars at Tasha's are a lot quieter and nicer than the cars at La's house. It was a good (if long) ride. On the google map, today's ride was the purple route north of the Turnpike.
The only thing Nick wouldn't let me do at Tasha's house was catch her. (Tasha had to catch her for me.) I don't know how that's going to work tomorrow, when we'll be back at our usual location and everything, but we shall see.
I'm kind of sorry for burying ya'll in horse updates but that is the largest thing looming in my life these days.
