Joe and the kids came out this weekend. There was a leadline class at the fun show today and the kids got to ride ponies. Gwen didn't really want to get on a pony until she saw Duncan on one, and then she was like I want to ride a pony! Fortunately, there were two ponies to hand, so there were enough ponies to go around. Nobody likes a pony shortage.

Duncan had been on a pony before, back when there was only one kid. Gwen didn't exist when Duncan got to ride the pony. I've always felt that the second kid got short shrift in the picture department because he or she was in SIBLING pictures and didn't get very many of his/her own. For that reason, I made a special effort to get Just-Gwen pictures. (All of the important shots are duplicated for the kids. I have Gwen Riding In Leadline and Duncan Riding in Leadline. I have Gwen-getting-her-ribbon and Duncan-getting-his-ribbon. I have Gwen-full-pony-shot and Duncan-full-pony-shot. I made an effort at parity.) However, since this was Gwen's first pony event, I made a special effort to get Gwen pictures.

There will, I trust, be no snide remarks about my Shiny! New! digital camera.
