Quiet day at work. Not going to talk about tenants today.
Dinner tonight was half a cup of twisty colorful pasta. On top of the twisty colorful pasta, I had two tomatoes (cut up) and about seven large mushrooms (cut up) and three cloves of garlic, all sauteed until soft in two tbsp of olive oil. I salted and peppered. And then, on top of that, I put a handful of smallish cubes of Weis Fresh Mozzerella. I love the stuff, which is weird considering how milky it tastes. I don't like milk, for heaven's sake. But this cheese? It is tasty.
I also had one apple and one almost-perfect avocado. (Its brother, who will be perfect tomorrow, is sitting on the kitchen counter and ripening as I type.)
In the mail today, I got my order from Penzey's. I like Penzey's because now that I have jars for the things I use a lot of (turmeric, cumin, paprika, powdered chipotle -- I think there's a general red/yellow theme going on here), I can just buy the (cheaper) baggies and decant them into the jars. I love getting spices in the mail. They're so... vibrant. There's something decadent about that amount of color/scent in one place. Wow. Also, Penzey's parsley is way greener than the store-bought kind. It smells better, too. I also fell for the Vindaloo powder and the Hot Curry powder because, well, hell. They were there. I was catalog shopping and my kung-fu was weak. On the plus side, they smell great.
The weather continues cold. I am not amused by the cold weather. Spent the evening watching Baby Doll (b&w movie about cotton gins and italian-americans and a beat-up plantation house) which was better than expected and not-at-all improving though it did feature a nice scene on a swing. Yay.
