The wind outside is vicious and has been all night. There's a skunk (at least one) living under my house, a recurring (but temporary) annoyance in my world. (For the truly slow of thinking: How can I tell there's a skunk living under my house? I can smell it. Constantly.)



I washed the cat last night and put fresh flea-killer crap on her. She's got flea allergy dermatitis, which basically means that if she gets bitten by fleas, she licks off all her fur until her skin is raw and she is decidedly non-fluffy for a longhaired cat. Plus, it looks weird. So, while the cat is allowed outside and stuff, I bomb the house about every three months and monthly wash the cat and douse her in flea-killer stuff. She does not like being washed but she knows better than to claw or bite me. She just meows unhappily and looks sad... but I am strong and resist her efforts to look pitiful. (However, for the record, dripping wet kitties that meow piteously -- they're pretty damn pitiful.) At the current time, she's sitting on my lap as I type. Probably she's forgiven me. Or maybe it's that the house is like 52, and she's just trying to keep warm. Who knows?

I also checked the furnace at dad's house (works fine) and picked up both the fridge food and the pretzels. Everything is fine on that front though I still have to play chinese fire drill with the cars and the garage. For now, the Audi is just parked outside the garage. I did take the key out, though.

Youtube has episodes of Death Note anime, some of them subtitled in English and some of them not. (Is it wrong to have a favorite fansubbing group?) I am not feeling guilty about watching same. They're *pretty*. Me want. Viz is supposed to be doing some kind of downloadable-buying-thing for these and I'm kind of interested in how that will work.

My thirty-days-back payer, whom I had called on the phone here a week ago and dunned for money, finally sent me some money. I'm kind of glad about that because it means I don't have to drive my ass to BFE and dun him in person (baseball bat and goons optional). That was *going* to be my weekend plan until the alleged checks which were allegedly on their way became actual checks when they got here in Friday's mail.

Since I'm feeling more flush (I got $960 that I was starting to think I wouldn't get without more significant effort and now have renewed hopes for getting the *rest* of it back -- and there's a fair amount of rest) at the moment and since I don't have any dunning activities on the schedule, I'm going to the Horse World Expo with Lala and Trys and Bethy. There will be horses. There will be vendors. There will be clinicians and seminars. Yay!

My great grandfather had a pet skunk when he was a young sheik in the 1910s or 1920s or something. It slept in the back seat of his purple roadster.

But... seriously, they reek. I can smell the one that resides (on occasion) under the house through the floor and the board insulation under the house. It's a pungent sort of a thing. Wouldn't it be all that much worse in a car, even a roadster?
