which_chickCouple of interesting things today.
First off, I ran into a disturbing essay on pharyngula. The Miracle of Stillbirth gets glossed over in the partial-birth abortion debate. Give it a read.
Second, here's a nice (sorry, .pdf format) article on yaoi from the LA Times. I found the closing quote notable: ... meant to portray relationships that are heterosexual at their foundation. Well, that's nice.
For comparison, does anyone need or want an article explaining why there are chick-on-chick scenes in porn films or why men might enjoy looking at them? I'm thinking not. Seems pretty obvious to me. (Salon.com, in their fine tradition of offering what nobody needs or wants, has one, if you feel like sitting through an ad to get to it.)
