When last we visited the book, Alex and his grandma Kate had just landed in Santa Maria de las Lluvias (Saint Maria of the Rains?). Since then so much has happened, oh boy.
( This is clearly a YA novel because of the pacing. It seriously chugs along, exciting thing after exciting thing. I am also NOT COMPLAINING about this because it makes for something of a page turner even when I struggle. )
