Menopause has not been especially fun but I would 100% trade not-having-a-broken-thermostat for the ability to fucking sleep again. Waking up four or five times a night is absolutely fucking bullshit. I LIKE sleeping. I am good USED TO BE GOOD at sleeping.

The internet: Be more active.

Me: More active than the ~13k steps I get in most days? Y'know, I pull this No Sleep Till Brooklyn shit when I get 25K step days, too. I am not sure "active" is the problem.

The internet: Stop smoking.

Me: Did that in 2003.

The internet: Limit caffeine after lunchtime.

Me: BEEN DOING THAT.

The internet: Drink less.

Me: Less that two beers a month? Okay...

The internet: Don't do anything in bed but sex and sleep.

Me: OK.

The internet: Set bedtime, set wakey-wakey time.

Me: I fucking do that. I go to bed at 10 PM. I wake up promptly at 5 AM. (Also at midnight, at two, three, and sometimes at 4.)

This is, as I have said, bullshit.

The internet: Don't nap.

Me: I... that's the only fucking sleep I get. Hour, hour and a half naps. At nighttime, when I'm in bed and it's dark. Sleep a little, wake the fuck up, sleep a little, wake the fuck up.
