I went for a walk today.
Apr. 13th, 2019 03:40 pmUp the creek to the top of the ridge. It is still quite early in the spring for stuff, but I saw several Mourning Cloak butterflies (Nymphalis antiopa) on the very top of the ridgeline and also a very surprised northern water snake in the creekbed. Couple of what I assume were garter snakes also, but no pics of them b/c they were too fast. Phone's MapMyRun(walk/hike) says 3.89 miles and 700 feet of elevation.
I also took Bird for a leisurely four miles this morning (at the walk, it was just too hot for him in his half-shed winter coat) down to the covered bridge stop sign and back.
