Oct. 3rd, 2010 09:16 pmLa and I cleaned out the peppers and tomatoes from her garden today. There were a lot of peppers. Like, totally a lot. I sliced up hot peppers. Now the skin on my fingers is burning. :(
I also took the Most Ungrateful out for a drag today. That went better than it did last time, so I guess learning is taking place. Nick wasn't entirely thrilled, but she was reasonably well-behaved despite having pinned ears for most of the ride. The Most Ungrateful only laid back on the rope once and mostly trotted and walked politely beside Nick.
After that, I did ground driving with Nick, who took it surprisingly well. This was just quick-n-dirty, no harness, regular bridle with longe lines hooked to the bit and carried back along her sides. I have plenty of time to get her in the regular harness at a later date. For the moment, she walks, jogs, stops, stands, backs, and turns while I'm on the ground behind her. Her patience is a lot higher than Lute's, too. (She is more broke than Lute.) I believe we'll try the harness on (all parts) later this week.
