Oct. 29th, 2009 12:05 amIn this video game, I am supposed to be a thief. The game is *called* Thief. I stole it, even. Given the title of the thing, you might think that my character (his name is Garrett and he sounds insufferably smug.) would be doing thiefly activities like, y'know, stealing stuff from actual humans in an urban environment. Not so. Apparently, fighting zombies is part of being a thief. (I thought that was the cleric's job, myself. Thief does stuff like recon and check-for-traps and whatnot. Clerics work with the undead, probably in a a community outreach program or something noble like that.) Not only do I fight (or avoid or get-killed-by) zombies, I apparently also have to deal with quite sizeable dinosaurs that breathe poisonous gases on me. Again, not really what I signed up for.
See, I'm allegedly in the boneyard or whatever, with zombies. I got past the zombies and boy was that a relief. However, then I wound up in craptastic tunnels under the place with the aforementioned quite sizeable dinosaurs. At this point I am not sure if I'm lost or if I'm failing the mission or what. All I can say is that there are no more family crypts like the one where I'm supposed to find the Horn of Horniness. Maybe I need to go back? I'll try again another night. Progress this evening isn't happening.
