Apr. 8th, 2009 09:51 pmI planted blueberry bushes in my yard today. They will need to be fenced, soonest. (Have fence put around them, I mean. Not sold as stolen goods would be to a pawn broker.) I've made a note.
Also, some time ago (A week? Half a week?) I was splitting wood and I managed to bust open my knuckle, middle one of index finger on right hand. It's not a lovely thing. The busted open part is right on the bendy part of the joint, so not much with the healing. Bugger it. It was swollen to twice the size of the other index finger for the first day or so. Now it's approaching normal size. It looks a lot better than it did at first, except for the non-healing crack of doom that goes right over the bendy part of the finger. That part looks pretty much the same. (I have a robust immune system and am not particularly interested in Seeking Medical Attention, here. This is not a wound deserving of Medical Attention. There aren't any weird stringy bits visible, just ordinary meat. It'll be fine, just a flesh wound. An annoying flesh wound.)
Special for persons who leave and go on vacation: It is prudent and thoughtful to schedule the post-vacation return to coincide with the onset of grass cutting season. The tail end of April is a bit further on than Grass Cutting Season should really be let to go. Also, the Turning On of Water at the Lodge has now struck both brothers as rather further on into the season than they had been expecting. Mid-April, really, is plenty of vacationing.
