Someone posted on the internets the other day a picture of their hands and asked "What can you deduce from my hands?"

Here are the hands pictured:

The "right" answer that viewers of the hands were supposed to deduce was that the OP was a right-handed lesbian woman.

The index and middle fingers of dominant hand (right) have very short nails and the remainder of the fingers have neatly maintained, longer nails. A right-handed lesbian woman would have those two nails very short for sex reasons and that was the thing viewers were supposed to notice.

Thing is, if you're posting your hands for people to let you know what they can tell about you FROM YOUR HANDS, they aren't always going to come up with the information you want them to pull. I mean, they probably will get that, but they're gonna know other things about you too.

1. OP is young, likely under 25. These hands are young.

2. OP does not do any manual labor to speak of. (Fingers have no muscle, hand has no muscle, joints are small, hands are completely unmarked by life's highway, nails look good, skin looks soft.)

3. OP is slightly fluffy. With hand held in a little-bit-reflexed position for photographing, no tendons are visible on the back of the hand. Knuckles are buried, even the ones where the fingers join the hand. Wrists are full, not bony-looking. These are the hands of a slightly fluffy person.

And yeah, I'm over here being mean about someone's hands on the internet, maybe, but also I am not making shit up, I'm telling you what I see.

Here are my hands:

You can tell me what you see, if you would like to do that. Heck, if you want to play audience participation, you can throw a pic of your hands in the comments but it is totally not required.

I note some scrapes, exactly where working hands have scrapes. A bit dry, perhaps not a consistent use of hand cream or allergy issues with products plus contact with dirt or chemicals. Pretty good nails because some are longish and none appear chipped or cracked. Probably not a mechanic unless you wear gloves. Some age. Yours look like mine did about 10 years ago, except my nails are generally shorter, and often chipped a bit because they are so soft. Old injury to pinky finger on left hand? Few veins "popped" on the back of your hands, so no history of carrying heavy items over distances regularly.

I see hands that are functional and get used to do all the things the wearer needs to get done!

This is fun! Now I want to post my hands too :D

Posting in the order I took them -

Interesting. Although a lot of people keep short nails.

My hands are all dry and cracked. :/

I live in a dry area, and wash my hands 40 times a day.
