I should note here for the record that my actual driveway is 2 miles long and dirt. It is EXCEPTIONALLY well-posted with no-trespassing signs. Most of the driveway is on private property, either my property or a right-of-way across other people's private property (also exceedingly well-posted). So, about a mile and a half down my driveway, I find a DJI rc1a controller. According to the internet, this is about $485 (new) or $350 (used) worth of drone controller. It's turned on and this is nighttime which is why I see it on my fucking road. The screen is cracked and it looks like it has been run over because the one trackball stem is broken off and it's dirty. ANYWAY, we do not permit the use of drones on our property or over our property without special permission of the landowners, which are us.

So I have here this beeping not-dead drone controller that I found on my driveway... that was probably BEING USED on my fucking property by people who were (a) trespassing or (b) aware that drones here are a no-no because they have permission to use the property in accordance with the rules. Whoever lost the drone controller is out a chunk of money. I'm kind of happy about this. :) They shouldn't have had a drone here at all and they aren't getting their controller back.

I only found the controller, not the part that flies. And it's been run over by a vehicle, so probably dodgy on the functionality. I'm going to toss it after deer season is over (this coming Saturday) and the pumpkin army has departed. Until then, keeping it in case anyone comes looking for it.
