I didn't accomplish much today.



I went with Jackie and Grandma to the eye doctor, which took the bulk of the day. We had pretty good Chinese for lunch afterward and also stopped in at JoAnn's (the fabric store, not somebody's house).

After that, I went up to Altoona for pony lessons wherein I actually got to ride a horse that went forward and paid attention to my legs. It was pretty darned nifty and a nice change of pace from the "La-la-la-can't-hear-you" horse I'd been riding. I still have the issue where I weight my right foot too much, but I'm working on it and today we worked through the total-newbie (walk-n-trot only) dressage tests, which I sucked at. :) You've gotta start somewhere, I guess. Pony for next week has been scheduled for Noon Friday b/c Thursday is turkey day. (This is not a general need-to-know thing but I'm putting it here so that I will remember.)

Yesterday I mailed out a certified letter to Bad Payer, who emailed me today that he was sending out a check. Now I feel like an ass, but shit, I hadn't gotten anything for September or for October and I was getting a little twitchy. How am I supposed to be able to guess when he's going to send me a check? I'm not fucking psychic and I waited a very long time, here, without any whining.

Also, I have discovered Herbert Niebling, who is a german guy. He's dead now. He made lace patterns before he was dead. Some of them are fucking amazing. Me want. One of the problems is that his patterns are still in copyright and many of the rights to the truly yummy patterns belong to a german company (Burda) that is reprinting the patterns in some german magazine and does not wish to reprint them in English, probably because of the hassle. Bummer, that. Anyway, some of the patterns are legitimately available in English and I bought one to see how I feel about it. It's this one, and we'll see if it kicks my ass or if I kick it's ass. (No, I know nothing about lace knitting. I'm sure it'll all become clear when I see the pattern, and if it doesn't, well, the internets will help me.

You should do more knitting. (I was so impressed with the finished spousal sweater effort...) If you're not knitting, are you at least making headway on the bobbin lace?
