which_chickI went to WalMart last week and bought underwear, footie socks, and sports bras.
All of the underwear was in fucking pastels and pink and pale purple (except the white and I don't like white underwear) and I was staring at it, thinking to myself Good God, all this underwear is totally fucking girly. I was kind of pissed about it until I decided that it was underwear for girls and that they were marketing to their demographic. Also,. it's not like anyone is ever going to SEE my underwear. Today it's pink. Yesterday it was lavender with wee flowers on it. My soul is slowly tarnishing. Why doesn't someone make nice, athletic underwear for women in colors like navy, grey, and black? Fucking Wal-Mart.
The footie socks were fairly acceptable. This time, WalMart had footie socks with more fabric to them and less elastic. These changes make the current iteration of footie socks (Footie socks are the ones that come just to one's ankle. There are no twee balls on the back of the ankle. There is no lace. There is no decoration and the only acceptable color is white. A manufacturer's logo, if small and tasteful, is allowed.) more successful than the previous iteration which fell short on both fronts AND had pink toe/heel decoration.
The sports bra selection was minimal, I'm guessing because the general population of WalMart shoppers, does not exercise. At least, that'd be my guess from looking at the general population of WalMart shoppers. However, they did have sports bras with an appropriate amount of spandex in black/heather grey/white, three for eight bucks. I bought them. Man, they nailed the acceptable-color trifecta. Huzzah! It could only have been better if they'd included navy in the lot. Anyway, they also had spaghetti strap sports bras. Can someone tell me what the hell a spaghetti strap sports bra is good for? I' m asking because it sure as shit isn't going to keep your tits from bouncing all over creation while you're doing active things. Spaghetti straps are not known for their support qualities. Is this some sort of for-looking-at sports bra? And why would you want to mash your tits all flat (which is the modality for most sports bras that fit people under DD cup size) and then show them off? Not getting it, here.
