This post is not about a horse outing.

Oops. Sorry, I was just kidding. It's a post about a horse outing. I'm totally sure everyone here is JUST as interested in how Nick is doing with cars as I am. Today we road and saw three, possibly four cars. She was good for all the cars and VERY good for some of the cars. We have a protective buffer horse (Aurora) who gets between us and the cars, but still, she's doing right nicely.

She wouldn't let me catch her in the field today, which was kind of weird, but what the hell. Tasha got her with a bucket of grain, which is fine.

Her English saddle is still fitting well, though I found two dry spots today on either side of her spine just behind the withers, right where the weight of my stirrups goes. I'm not sure if that was user-error or saddle fit or what, but the entire rest of her back looks good and the dry spots are not sore. We'll re-evaluate things next ride.

She's going really well in the steel shoes, not clipping or forging or anything (and that's bloody amazing given how close she tracks behind).

Tomorrow is a day off from horses and then we will pick up again ThursdayFriday.

Ya know, sad as it may seem, I'm probably as interested in Nick's progress as anyone can be who's never seen any of you
maybe because it's easier than training my own horses (re: haltering training icon)

btw, how did the GSA sale of FEMA trailers go for you? we're considering bidding on a travel trailer when they start up on auction again for the ones stored in Arkansas
