which_chickSpent today looking for a water leak that wasn't particularly easy to locate. The hole where the pipe isn't, though, that's filling up with water. I think we're on the right track.
I'm going in to the fair shortly to abuse the IRH with my NewElectric Train Set Saddle, for which the final accessory arrived today in the post.
Regarding the opera tickets, the box office opened at 10:00 AM today. I called them and straightened out the opera ticket issue by 10:30 AM. Here are the facts of the opera ticket case.
Fact 1: There exist opera tickets in the name of Barbara You-Know. They are for the same seats that Barbara You-Know had last year. (The opera tickets are always in the name of Barbara You-Know because they are mailed to her house. Asking after opera tickets in the name of Jessica Know is not useful because they're never in my name.)
Fact 2: These opera tickets were renewed in NOVEMBER of 2006. The deadline for renewing for the 2007/2008 season is a lot later than November, 2006, so I renewed promptly. I believe they offered us a freebie ticket to a performance of our choosing if we renewed before December or something, because usually I'm after the first of the year with renewing.
Fact 3: The opera tickets were paid for by a check from Jessica Know -- this neatly splains why I could not find the charge for the opera tickets on my credit card statements. I usually use plastic for the opera tickets but I did not do so this past November. When I opened the check registry, lo, there was an entry for "Opera tickets" and an amount and a check number and everything.
I trust that this settles the matter of the opera tickets. Yes, I did buy them. Ages ago. Like I thought I did. (I was pretty damn sure I'd bought them until my mother called me up wanting to know why I hadn't bought opera tickets yet.)
