Sep. 17th, 2006 02:17 pmI'm sure everyone has heard of Richard Baron Cohen's Hippopotamus Service but if you somehow missed it up until now, go check it out.
In other news, I cleaned off the coffee table, space between coffee table and couch, washed all throw rugs, and am contemplating sorting through the clothes that are worn out and/or do not fit. Go me!

Date: 2006-09-18 03:38 am (UTC)The living room floor has been cleaned *and* swept. I vacuumed the rug under the dining room table and wiped down the kitchen floor.
In a fit of productivity, I cleaned the cat snot off the wall where the cat food dish goes. (The cat with permanent snot died last October so it has been worth cleaning that up since almost a year ago. I just haven't gotten around to doing it.)
I threw out four pairs of jeans that I will never fit in again. I put three arms of books away.
I made beef-n-barely soup to use up some of the beef 'stew meat' bits in my fridge (including the monster soup bone). I also finished off the allegedly Irish oatmeal that wasn't all I had hoped it would be. (The rolled kind just isn't as nice as the cook-a-long-time unrolled kind.)
I put away the canning stuff since canning season is over. I'll try to schlep the canned good to their sundry owners here as and when I see the appropriate households. That'll get them out of my damn house.
I emptied various and sundry trash cans AND put all the power screwdriver parts back in the work truck.
I knit the handles for the bag, attached one, and counted out where the other attaches.
I vacuumed lots of cobwebs.
I took apart the bathroom sink trap and removed all the hair from it so that it would drain again... and put it back together so that it didn't leak.
I stowed firestarting cardboards (including the peach half-bushel boxes -- interested parties can page back to the peach events to see exactly how long they've been sitting on the kitchen floor) in the cardboard closet. I put away the luggage from the Amsterdam trip.
The house is currently a level of neat that it sees once or twice a year. That isn't to say that it's clean, but it's a heck of a lot cleaner than usual, with less clutter than is the norm. It looks practically zen.
