More wrist updates. So excite!
Mar. 27th, 2022 07:02 pmWrist improvement continues. I would like it better to be instantly fixed, but that's apparently not how these things work. I would like it to magically be what it was at the end of January, but it is not.
*sigh*
It is still pretty twinge-y, which sounds bad but hear me out. As the range of motion expands, the twinges remain at the outer limits of what I can do, bounding and defining where I'm at. I keep shoving the boundaries back but as I do, there are twinges so that I don't forget that it's still effed up.
Progress: can hold ceramic mug (even full of liquid) in a pain-free manner. can start my Honda Fit ignition properly. can pick up firewood one-handed (bad hand) if it's not too big. Sometimes there is pain on swinging firewood pieces into good arm. Can comb out wet hair without pain. (My hair is well below "hip length".) Can elastic band my ponytail and braid my hair acceptably by myself. Doing better at chopping cabbage/bacon/carrots with a knife but still struggle with halving a head of cabbage or cutting a large sweet potato along the big axis. Hand strength is not great yet but I am working on it. (I kinda want one of those grip things for making people better pistol shooters. Even a pretty wimpy one would help.) Dressing self is now easy. Taking off jackets is still weird, though, there's a thing I do right at the start of de-jacketing that I do with my wrists/hands prior to shrugging off the jacket and it's not online yet. I can use screwdrivers and open doorknobs (the non-lever kind) easily now. I am getting better at holding a paint roller, but it's still a bit heavy for me so I trade off with the dumb hand when my smart one gets tired. Wrist is still *slightly* swollen, particularly in the afternoons after a day using it at work, but it gets better overnight. Range of motion is coming along, slowly. I work on it every day.
